What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Effective 30 September 2026.
The Sunder Foundation ("the Foundation", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through sunderfoundation.org and our emails. In short: we collect very little, we use it only to stay in touch and to run the site, and we never sell it.

Information you give us. When you subscribe to the Wellspring, we collect your email address. When you send an enquiry through our Contribute page, we collect your name, email address, and — if you choose to share them — your phone number, organisation, the ways you would like to contribute, and your message. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — to deliver and secure the site. We may use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits in aggregate. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site keeps a small amount of information in your browser to make pages load faster; it contains no personal details.
Videos. Films on our site are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; once you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.
We use your information to send the Wellspring and other updates you asked for; to reply to your enquiry and follow up on offers of support; to operate, maintain, and protect the website; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers who process information on our behalf and only as we instruct: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (secure database and file storage), Google Workspace (record-keeping for enquiries), and our email-delivery provider for the Wellspring. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of the Foundation or others.
Every Wellspring email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We keep a record that you unsubscribed so we can honour your request. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to hello@sunderfoundation.org. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
We keep subscriber information until you unsubscribe, and enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of our relationship — generally no longer than three years unless a longer period is required by law.
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and restricted, individual staff access to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard what you entrust to us.
We are based in the United States and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region with data-protection laws, you may have additional rights — including to object to or restrict certain processing — which you can exercise by contacting us. California residents may likewise request access to or deletion of their information; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed; significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
